KEY DUTIES & TASKS
- Collects information mainly from records and reports and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports on programme and project activities
- Organizes data and information, prepares and maintains records, documents and control plans for the monitoring of project/programme implementation
- - Makes travel and hotel reservations, prepares travel orders and assembles information pertinent to the purpose of travel
QUALIFICATION and COMPETENCIES
Education
Completion of Secondary School Education, preferably supplemented by technical or University courses in administration, secretarial management of a level equivalent to BTS or DUT
Work Experience
Six years of progressively responsible clerical or administrative work, of which at least one year is closely related to support of programme activities.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in French and English working knowledge

KEY DUTIES & TASKS
• Helps manage the immediate section operations with respect to communications, meetings and work flow; identifies complex or sensitive subjects, as well as priority issues that need to be brought to the supervisor’s attention. As appropriate, provides information and guidance to staff at all levels within the section to ensure understanding of intent and deadlines.
• Establishes internal tracking systems and procedures for correspondence and documents; monitor work progress and cases of priority and concern to the supervisor.
QUALIFICATION and COMPETENCIES
Education
Completion of Secondary School Education, preferably supplemented by technical or University courses in administration, secretarial management of a level equivalent to BTS or DUT.
Work Experience
6 years of progressively responsible clerical and administrative work. Computer literacy and the ability to effectively use standard office software tools and other office technology to create documentation, exchange and archive e-mail, and maintain electronic filing systems.

KEY DUTIES & TASKS
· Responsible for establishment and management of an inventory database system, to ensure that accurate and updated inventory of all supplies and equipment received is recorded and maintained properly.
· Follow up to ensure Inventory reports received from sub offices and input these to prepare consolidated report to be shared with the Country Management Team and Programme Management Team on a biweekly basis.
· Assists and perform the tasks of the shipping/stores Assistant whenever required
QUALIFICATION and COMPETENCIES
EducationAdvance degree in Business Studies, Stores Management or related field. Computer literacy in Windows, Word, excel and Power Point
Work Experience
Five years of progressively responsible work experience in a similar capacity in a recognized institution.

KEY DUTIES & TASKS
Controls and operates bank accounts in accordance with UN/UNICEF financial rules and regulations and local banking practices. Provides up-to-date information on the cash position or status of such accounts. Keeps abreast of all procedures and regulations regarding the maintenance of bank accounts, exchange and interest rates, etc.
Certifies the appropriate, accurate and timely processing and recording of disbursements and payments, (e.g., financial transactions, travel claims, pension fund, insurance, advances to government), in accordance with established rules, regulations and systems, and within budgetary limits. Also ensures recovery of advances and accounts receivable.
Monitors financial transactions and accounting reports, and reconciliation of accounts, to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial information. Prepares required reports and statements for the Head of Office and HQ.
QUALIFICATION and COMPETENCIES
Education
University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Work Experience
Two years of professional work experience in finance and accounting. Experience in an international organization desirable
Language Proficiency :
Fluency in English and another UN language required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.

VACANCY NOTICE
UNICEF wishes to request applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following post:

Post Title:Chief of Social Policy
Duration: One (1) year renewable
Location: Yaounde

• In collaboration with the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, contributes to the preparation of the Country Programme Intergrated Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Plan.
Participates in the development of the Country Programme Document (CPD) and Country Programme Action Plan (CPAP), and leads the preparation of the Social Policy Programme’s annual work plans (AWPs). Manages and monitors implementation of the Social Policy AWPs and ensures compliance with specific assigned tasks and results.
• Prepares reports for the Social Policy Programme’s donors and drafts relevant sections of the Country Office annual reports, including the Situation Analysis
• Liaises with the Regional Chief, Economic and Social Policy, in the West and Central Africa Regional Office (WCARO) and with social policy staff in UNICEF Headquarters, and participates in regional and global consultations and exchange of information and experience on social policy programming.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

Education:
Advanced university degree in Economics or the Social Sciences, preferably including applied quantitative research

Work Experience:
Eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and/or international levels in research, policy analysis and/or policy formulation on social and economic issues of importance for children, human development and poverty reduction. Expertise in poverty reduction strategies, budget analysis and fiscal policy, and/or social protection would be an advantage.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken French and English
