About the Organization: 
The Revitalising Rainfed Agriculture Network (RRA Network) is a growing network of over 200 civil society organizations, research institutions, policy makers, donor agencies, and individuals advocating for a differeatntied policy and support system for rainfed agriculture in India. Established in August 2009, it advocates for increased and appropriate public investments to strengthen rainfed agriculture policy and support system for rainfed areas in India. RRA Network proposes a series of specific measures on seeds, soils, water, millets, fisheries, credit, markets, and institutions.
About the Job: 
RRA Network is seeking a Chief Executive Officer. S/he will provide direction and ensure accountability of projects undertaken by various network partners.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Working with the strategic lead group (SLG) of the Network, to develop and implement a long-term agenda for the RRAN;
  • Helping recruit staff;
  • Liaison with organizations having responsibilities to undertake the following functions:
    • Help the organization to develop and operationalize an MIS for the Network to track commitments made by all partners;
    • Help in the development of an internal and external communication strategy for the network and oversee its translation into specific products, and campaigns;
    • Work with the RRA networks's research node to develop and advance a research agenda and oversee the conversion of research outputs to communication materials for use in the network's policy advocacy;
    • Identify ongoing HR needs of the network, undertake recruitment, and place executives across the network besides capacity building framework across the various pilots being commissioned by the Network;
    • Liaison with existing and prospective donors (including government, and domestic and international donors) to generate greater support for the network.
  • Develop and manage network activities, including meetings of the governing board, the SLG, and the extended network;
  • Manage administration, information, and reporting of network activities such that all stakeholders receive accurate and timely information;
  • Builds and maintains good relations with network partners, donors, and other stakeholders in close coordination with SLG.
Qualifications: 
  • Masters degree in Social Sciences or related field;
  • Minimum 12 years of total professional experience;
  • Proven ability in straddling multiple day-to-day roles that include timely project delivery, stakeholder relationship management, quality assurance, team building, mentorship, fundraising, brand visibility, and thought leadership;
  • Demonstrated skills in alliance building and relationship management across diverse partners and stakeholders;
  • Ability to represent the organization across media, government, and national and international forums;
  • Familiarity with policy advocacy in India would be a plus;
  • Familiarity with a development sector would be a plus.
