About the Job: 
MicroSave is seeking an Analyst: Bank - MNO Programme. S/he will support delivery of technical assistance to select large banks and MNOs in India. S/he would cover consumer research, product development/enhancement, process improvement/reengineering, marketing, and IEC improvements. Special focus would be on the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.The position is based in Lucknow, Patna, Delhi or Hyderabad, with more than 50% travel to the assigned districts.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide technical assistance to a range of large banks, business correspondents, and MNOs to enable greater consumer awareness of branchless/agency banking and mobile banking services and to accelerate and scale-up adoption;
  • Extensive surveys on consumer needs and aspirations, and gaps in products/services available in the assigned districts, using qualitative/PRA techniques;
  • Collaborate with banks in developing, testing, and rolling out enhanced/new products aligned to the consumer needs;
  • Assess gaps in the delivery channels – agency and low-cost branches – and in collaboration with banks and their partners (business correspondents/MNOs) develop and implement interventions to address the front-end challenges and barriers. These would typically be across:
    • Training curriculum design and training delivery for capacity building;
    • Enhancing and improving IEC and BTL marketing programs and implementing the improved programs;
    • Supporting and handholding product, distribution, and regional teams of the stakeholders during the course of implementing these interventions;
    • Capture learnings and impact of the interventions implemented over a period of time.
  • Provide monthly updates and conduct regular review meetings with the regional managers and senior management of the banks, business correspondents and MNOs regarding the progress of the programs, and for creating a buy-in on the course of the program/interventions;
  • Work with organization's teams providing technical assistance to G2P programs and for linkages with agri/health and energy related programs, as relevant to the specific geographies;
  • Driving the program agenda in the assigned districts and support the assignment lead/practice group lead and other team members of organization.
Qualifications: 
  • Master's in Management/Business Administration/Rural Management/Agri Business Management;
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience, with at least 2 years with large banks/ NBFCs/ MFIs;
  • Knowledge and experience of liability products for banks;
  • Knowledge/expertise in qualitative research using PRA techniques;
  • Experience in developing process maps and conducting risk analysis. Expertise in using MS Visio for developing process maps;
  • Ability to interface with and manage stakeholders at senior level in the state/districts/banks/MNOs.
  • Highly creative and imaginative.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills. Should exhibit independence in conducting analysis and writing reports;
  • Excellent report writing and presentation drafting skills;
  • Excellent ability to analyze and synthesize data/information and present it using appropriate frameworks;
  • Fluent in English, Hindi, and a regional language preferable.
