About the Organization: 
The Boulder Institute of Microfinance is a nonprofit organization founded in 2004. It is dedicated to increasing access of formal financial services for low income families to help them achieve their multiple goals and ultimately improve their lives.The Boulder Institute offers annual microfinance training programs that challenge microfinance professionals to engage in critical thinking around decisions they face in their microfinance activities and become familiar with the evidence behind success and failure in the provision of financial services.
About the Job: 
The Boulder Institute is seeking a Director - Global Symposium. S/he will develop an annual global symposium on financial inclusion.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Organize state of the art research/data analysis that will provide insights into the microfinance industry;
  • Coordinate the production of data, materials, and papers to support symposium and other related microfinance courses.
Qualifications: 
  • Master degree in Political Science and/or Development, PhD desirable;
  • At least 5 years of experience the microfinance industry or experience studying the microfinance sector in an academic setting;
  • Experience working with data management and analysis;
  • Able to coordinate microfinance field and academic experts;
  • Self motivated and resourceful in completing projects in a timely manner;
  • Experience working and/or living in developing countries and willingness to travel up to 30%;
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and computer skills;
  • Ability to prepare academic quality draft papers;
  • Fluency in either English and Spanish or English and French.
