Quality, Environment & Safety Region Man The Coca-Cola Company - Bangkok


Job description

Position Overview

Ensure that the policies and standards of The Coca-Cola Company on Quality, Environment and Occupational Safety & Health and the requirements of local regulations across the supply chain are achieved.

Responsible for ensuring business plan objectives of the Region are met, including Product and Package Quality Targets, environmental and safety initiatives and timely introduction of new packages and products. Plans and objectives on QEOSH are aligned through franchise leadership with the bottlers.

Key Duties/Responsibilities


  1. To develop and implement the annual QEOSH business plan to achieve business and QEOSH goals (including KORE requirement and quality system implementation), in support of the overall business plans of the Region and the Business Unit, (bottlers, copackers, suppliers). The plan should include clearly defined KPIs and specific programs in place to ensure targets will be achieved.
  2. To optimally utilize inputs from Quality Measures, Environment & Safety monitoring, consumer complaint trends and audits to proactively drive QEOSH Improvement across the supply chain and ensure that all KO products in the Region are in compliance with Company specifications.
  3. To develop and implement a Trade Sample Program for the Region in accordance with Corporate and BU requirements.
  4. To ensure the use of approved suppliers for materials used by Bottlers with ingredients and primary packaging as main focus, including SGP.
  5. Manage the Fountain Quality program across the different customers and Key accounts, ensuring delivery of QI goals
  6. To ensure that for all new products, processes, packages, equipment and facilities, appropriate quality and operational programs are in place.
  7. To provide business and action oriented quality reports to senior management with relevant reporting materials and identify issues to allow appropriate decision making.
  8. To periodically assess and identify knowledge gaps of plant personnel in QEOSH areas and organize adequate training programs to close those gaps.
  9. To create professional and aligned business relationship with internal parties : Corporate, Global Audit Organization, ASEAN Business Unit, Region and others in TCCC system, and external parties : suppliers, McDonalds, and others related to the business.



  10. Communication Complexities

    Communicates and negotiates directly with bottler central office and Bottling plants on improvement plan implementation, corrective actions plans, investments and training requirements. Communicates directly with BU quality function, GAO (Global Audit Organization) and Audit suppliers, to understand audit output and manage risk identification. Collaborates with cross-functional teams (Stills team, Bottler Procurement, Planning, Manufacturing and the Region team) to guide the quality function as part of the business development.

    Analysis

    The position requires new approaches to identify solutions for quality issues across the different parts of the production and commercialization process of our products, from suppliers to product distribution into the market place. The result of this evaluation will activate specific actions across the organization to ensure that quality requirements are fulfilled. As part of the audit process output, strong analytic skills are required to link findings with potential risk in the market and to activate corrective actions plans with bottlers.

    Examples of this problems: (1) How to improve the quality performance in an operation with a clear gap in quality culture? (2) How to use the output of QA audits, Operational reviews, 3rd party evaluations, to build up a successful quality improvement plan? (3) Evaluate corporate requirements and establish implementation plans in the different bottlers, dealing with capability, budget and time limitations? (4) Establish priorities among the Quality organization to ensure that urgent and important requirements are implemented?

    Innovation

    Quality improvement is a cross functional responsibility, meaning that in order to improve, all the processes in the procurement, supply, transformation, distribution and selling of the product, are involved. In order to be able to reach sustainable quality, process concepts must be clear, so new ways to reach the final result, delivering quality goals, can be developed. Specific examples 1) Product warehousing and distribution improvement to reduce negative effect over product carbonation. 2) Implementation of Environmental best practices by adapting technologies that are successful in other countries, dealing with our current constraints (budget, capability, space)

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    One Direct Report and indirect report with 7 Plant QA and environmental managers. This role will be responsible for coordinating the activities of this report that will be in charge of executing strategies in the field (Bottling plants, suppliers, copackers). Identification of priorities is a key success factor for this position. How to coordinate the limited resources and the extended team resources to ensure that the result is achieved.

        5. Related Experience

          • 8 years in the food or pharma industry
          • Operational Excellence experience
          • Quality Assurance experience
          • Minimum University/Bachelor’s degree
          • Food Science Master degree
          • Fluent in English. Be able to challenge “status quo” mind set in the operations, meaning a cultural transformation challenge.
          • Fluent in Thai.

          Travel Requirements
          Travel to the bottler facilities, CPS and other stakeholders across Thailand and Lao PDR (10%).
