Operations Manager Education Growth Advisors - Greater Boston Area

As Operations Manager, you will play an integral role in supporting the operations of EGA to help advance the organization’s top priorities. The primary role of the Operations Manager will be to provide critical, high level support to the Partners across human resources, operations, finance, sales and marketing, and other strategic initiatives.  Primary responsibilities would include:
Human Resources
  • Assist company leadership in successfully recruiting, engaging, and sustaining a dedicated set of employees
  • Proactively manage a pipeline of potential associates, interns, and contract employees to support the consulting work
  • Manage vendor relationships
Operations
  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of EGA’s mission -- specifically, supporting better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning
  • Maintain office services by organizing office operations and procedures; preparing payroll; controlling correspondence; designing filing systems; IT overview; assigning and monitoring clerical functions
  • Maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement
  • Coordinate efforts across the Boston and Stamford offices
Finance
  • Adhere to financial objectives by assisting management with an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Coordinate financial functions between Partners and outsource service provider
  • Manage expense reimbursements and other relevant bookkeeping tasks
Sales and Marketing
  • Maintain the Salesforce.com database and promote usage throughout the organization
  • Ensure up-to-date content on the corporate website
  • Oversee projects to update the website or collateral
Strategic Initiatives
  • Drive planning of scope and sequence for the company and leadership team's meetings
  • Manage and coordinate special projects that may include company gatherings, office moves, etc.
  • Act as a "jack of all trades" to the partner group

Communication
You are expected to actively contribute to regular staff and leadership meetings and keep management informed by reviewing special reports, summarizing information and identifying trends.  As a small, non-hierarchical firm, everyone contributes through questions and discussion.

This position may be located in Boston, MA or Stamford, CT

Desired Skills and Experience

Prior Experience
  • Minimum of five years’ work experience with experience in bookkeeping
  • Experience working in a management consulting organization a plus
  • Experience in a small or start-up environment a plus

  • Exceptional judgment, strong initiative, and a quick learner with strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated and efficient operator with the ability to manage a significant volume of diverse tasks, activities, and projects, including both tactical and strategic projects

  • Possesses the highest standards of ethics, integrity, respect and humility
  • Prior experience working with senior leadership within an organization or company, and a natural orientation towards being proactive and solutions-focused
  • Persuasive with details and facts
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to be flexible and take an optimistic approach to work
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint required
Education
  • Bachelor's degree
