Position Description
Job Purpose/Summary:
  • Plan, organise, lead and control all Production Department activities to meet business objectives as defined in approved work programs and budgets, and in line with company’s overall business plan.
  • Manage safely the production and export of specification hydrocarbons consistent with approved production forecasts, and account for all volumes produced and sold.
  • Maintain the technical integrity of all production facilities and approve enhancements and upgrades to both the offshore and onshore production systems.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Direct and monitor policy of operational matters concerning hydrocarbon production planning and accounting and crude oil quality and evacuation.
  • Meet crude oil export targets to ensure maximization of Company’s revenue while complying with crude export specifications
  • Maintain all onshore and offshore production facilities in line with Company’s requirements and manufacturers’ recommended procedures to ensure the operability and technical integrity of the onshore and offshore hydrocarbon production systems.
  • Liaise routinely with the main contractors on production and maintenance matters.
  • Communicate the department plans effectively to the relevant operational staff and ensure that their implementation and outcomes are monitored critically and that, if necessary, timely corrective actions are identified.
  • Optimise wells, facilities and systems to ensure production is maximized and costs are minimized in line with good oilfield practices.
  • Monitor the gathering, analysis and integration of the data necessary to understand and predict field and well performances, and implement remedies to overcome production difficulties and well problems.
  • Develop and manage procedures for statutory inspections and other regulatory requirements.
  • Interact as necessary with the Asset Management Team to ensure practical considerations are taken into account in forecasting and scheduling of crude oil and gas production and to make operations input to the design of wells and completions.
  • Represent appropriately Compan’s views and interests in production-related matters in dealings with the licence owners, the authority of application (DPR), and any other relevant third parties.
  • Assess national production staff competence, identify gaps, develop training plans to close gaps and develop necessary, and ensure that proper career planning and mentoring are available to all staff.
 
Position Requirements
Know how and experience required:

  1. A degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline is essential with at least 20 years work experience.
  2. At least 15 years experience in a senior supervisory level in Production and Maintenance operations.  This includes subsurface and surface facilities.
  3. A very good knowledge and in depth understanding of the latest Production planning and hydrocarbon accounting methodologies.
  4. At least 2 years terminal and tanker scheduling operations experience.
  5. Very good people management, interpersonal, commuinciations and organizational skills are essential.
  6. Good written/spoken English and PC literate.
