slickline supervisor

Job description

Job Purpose:
To plan and supervise Slickline operations on a range of locations as required and in line with Weatherford and Client policies, procedures and systems, Statutory Regulations and good industry practice.
Represent Testing/Slickline Services at client locations as required. To run Slickline operations, including but not limited to the supervision of Junior Slickline Operators, Slickline Operators and Senior Slickline Operators.

Job Responsibilities:
To maintain overall control of the Slickline Operation as directed by the well services supervisor/client representative. To ensure the successful outcome of the client well operations programme through supervision of the Slickline intervention team.

To operate Slickline tools & equipment as required within the capabilities of the Supervisor’s core competency level in a manner consistent with the Company & client work instructions in order to achieve the safe delivery of all objectives as set out in the client’s various operations programs.

To review well operations programmes & well files as required & to direct the team in the planning of the operation & preparation of equipment necessary to execute a successful well intervention operation.

Liaise with Technical Advisor to ensure adequate equipment is available at the worksite to meet operational requirements.

Supervise offshore crews, ensuring full compliance with all relevant safety and quality procedures.

Delegate responsibilities and tasks within team as appropriate to team member’s competency

To deputies for the Well Services Supervisor on an as-required basis.

To assist the Well Services Supervisor or client representative in the completion of company operational reports in accordance with quality procedures, and distribute the same in a manner consistent with the client’s demands. Ensure entry of reports into WPTS.
Any other delegated responsibilities as suggested/requested by Offshore Supervisor or Technical Advisor within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfill these.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications Required:
Completed Senior High School Certificate
Diesel Mechanic/Electrician Qualification



Skills Required:
Good knowledge & understanding of well services sector of the oil industry. Previous experience of Slickline operations in an operating role.
Good all round knowledge of the major well service equipment manufacturers’ equipment.
The practical ability to maintain the tools & equipment as required carrying out a Slickline operation offshore
Ability to supervise crews & assist with the control of logistical matters for & on behalf of both Intervention Services & clients as required
Strong communication skills – written, verbal and listening
Supervisor/leadership skills – Interpersonal Understanding
Ability to be pro-active

Experience Required:
5+ years working experience in Slickline
Significant experience of Slickline operations in the position of Slickline operator.
Experience of working with a broad selection of all major Slickline tool manufacturers’ tools & equipment.
Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
