RFQ - Agent Banking Advisor Women's World Banking Malawi


About the Organization: 
Women’s World Banking (WWB) is an international network of MFIs in several countries to bring financial services and information to low-income entrepreneurs. Its mission is to expand the economic assets, participation, and power of poor women as entrepreneurs and economic agents by opening their access to finance, knowledge and markets. It seeks to alleviate global poverty by expanding the economic assets, participation, and power of the poor, especially women.
About the Job: 
WWB is seeking an Agent Banking Advisor. S/he will provide expertise on a savings and agent banking initiative in Malawi. The consultant will be based in Malawi for a long-term assignment.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide field support to WWB's partner bank during pilot preparation, launch, and roll-out;
  • Serve as liaison for WWB’s project manager, technical staff, and consultants;
  • Provide technical assistance to WWB's partner bank in specific areas including: agent management for delivery channels strategy, developing and integrating performance management and monitoring tools for agent network, developing and integrating management information reporting for low income segment, staff and agent training and development;
  • Participate as part of a cross functional team in WWB-led technical assistance project components, these include pilot planning, strategy development for delivery channels, marketing and financial education, reporting and performance indicators, and training and development;
  • Support partner bank in meeting project milestones on time and in achieving key performance targets.
Qualifications: 
  • Professional experience of 5 to 7 years in provision of financial services (banking, mobile money, or microfinance);
  • Prior experience implementing agency or mobile banking solutions;
  • Work experience in developing countries, experience in Africa preferred;
  • Hands-on manager with track record of implementing projects in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-cultural setting;
  • Strong project management and reporting skills required, previous experience with international agencies or donor-funded projects an advantage;
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills;
  • Fluency in English required.
