About the Organization: 
17 Triggers is a marketing consulting firm. It specializes in health, education, microfinance, migration, environment, water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, and human rights.
About the Job: 
17 Triggers is seeking a Capacity Building Specialist. S/he will conduct the prototype testing of the marketing materials for a savings prototype with a local team. S/he will also train MFI staff to be able to use marketing toolkit once materials are finalized. This assignment is for 20 days.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide input into the prototype testing plan and analytical framework;
  • Train local MFI staff on how to conduct prototype testing in the field;
  • Conduct prototype testing with local team;
  • Collect and synthesize findings from prototype testing;
  • Provide 17 Triggers with a “findings and recommendations” brief for prototype revisions;
  • Provide input into training plan;
  • Deliver training to UGAFODE staff on final prototypes;
  • Write a short training report based on agreed upon outline.
Qualifications: 
  • At least 5-7 years experience in the designing and conducting research to test prototypes in the field;
  • At least 5-7 years experience in microfinance (experience with savings preferred);
  • At least 5-7 years experience in training and capacity building;
  • Experience organizing and managing a local team to test prototypes in the field;
  • Strong facilitation skills using participatory methods;
  • Detail oriented and excellent interpersonal, communication skills;
  • Creative, open-minded, and a team player;
  • Experience working in African countries (experience in Uganda preferred);
  • Local language skills a plus.
