Their ability to plan, design and manage diverse highway and design build infrastructure projects has satisfied both government and commercial client’s needs for over 60 years.
The Louis Berger Group is currently engaged in Jamaica to provide construction management services in association with the construction of the Jamaica North South Highway. The firm is continuing to build responsible and skilled resources to provide necessary engineering expertise on this project. There is an immediate need to assign an experienced highway construction management engineer to be resident on this project.
The individual will be expected to:
Be responsible for supporting the office responsible for the construction management of the project. The CM will be responsible for monitoring construction activities using skilled expertise and providing administrative support in association with the construction management activities of the project.
· Coordinate construction documents with statements of work;
· Review contractor submissions to ensure compliance;
· Monitoring of sites to ensure technical and quality compliance;
· Act as one of the primary liaison between Program manager and contractor;
; Verify project status and modifications, and document field changes;
m Monitor the contractors activities to ensure environmental compliance
Basic Qualifications:
Education
* BS Civil Engineering Degree and 15 years experience and expertise in highway and bridge construction of complex projects
* 5 years experience with and US based employer (CM)
* 5 years direct highway and bridge construction management experience

* Must have experience supervising highway and bridge construction projects.
* Must have demonstrated experience supervising and working with Foreign National labor.
* Must have proven knowledge and experience in using computer applications supporting construction processes such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word and a working knowledge of CAD.
* Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively collaborate with the customer, contractors and vendors who carry out the work.
* Must be proficient in plan review and the review of contractors shop drawings.
* Must possess good judgment and analytical skills in order to evaluate construction issues that occur in the field and be able to determine proper corrective action.
* Must be proficient at the preparation of the administrative reports.
* Experience with data processing, office environments, and related computer software.
* Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate after-hours, holiday, and weekend work schedules.
* Must be willing and able to spend 180 consecutive days on overseas projects.
