Summary
Reporting to the Procurement & Logistics Manager (Chad), the Logistics Manager will be responsible for preparing and executing the logistics plan from Cameroon, and other international locations, to all jobsites within Chad. The incumbent will work with the company Logistics/Customs provider to ensure timely loading and unloading of all modes of transportation (ship, rail, and truck) as well as timely, accurate customs clearance.

Responsibilities:
• Screen pre-alert documents to ensure correct documentation is provided by freight forwarder.
• Monitor freight movement; both into and out of Cameroon, based on priority levels.
• Coordinate with all UHCL personnel within Chad to ensure priority shipments are actualized.
• Issue claim reports to freight forwarder, or vendors, in case of damage in Douala transit.
• Evaluate and recommending corrective action to ensure that all materials / equipment arrive on site in accordance with contractual and project schedule requirements.
• Produce regular expediting reports and ensuring follow-up on action items.
• Monitor and expedite the timely issuance of all project documents by all applicable parties.
• Planning of consolidated material movements to maximize cost savings.
• Work with Project Managers and vendors to resolve communication breakdowns or issues.
• Source materials and services for Chad procurement office vendor registry.
• Ensure compliance with all of UHCL policies, practices and standards.
• Carry out all reporting activities as requested.
• Use creative problem solving techniques to address backorders and new business needs.
• Ensure proper documentation is provided for all imports and exports.
• Implement process improvements and cost savings initiatives, analysis of project. procurement/contract plans (rent vs. buy decisions, cost benefit analysis, internal vs. external development).
• Participate in team and business unit meetings as required.
• Purchase and contract duties as assigned. 

Qualifications :Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you must have:
• A Business or Supply Chain Management degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Supply Chain or Logistics certification/designation (i.e. SCMP, CSCP, P. Log, and CITT).
• A minimum of ten years international Supply Chain Management experience in the upstream oil and gas industry in frontier locations.
• Experience with drilling and completions equipment is an asset.
• Experience of International Shipping Requirements.
• Experience of dealing with customs documentation.
• Demonstrated ability in Vendor Management Practices.
• Strong analytical and innovative problem solving skills.
• Effective interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Strong ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
• Self-starter and the ability to both work both in a team environment and independently.
• Proficiency in MS office and knowledge of materials management software.
• Proven pro-active work style and attention to detail.
