It assists clients in developing and expanding business opportunities, answering critical tactical questions and strategic decision making.
The Research Manager role is a challenging one that offers a great opportunity for someone wanting to develop their career in market research working for the world leader in strategy research for consumer markets. The role requires someone with strong leadership qualities and the ability to develop our research capability in this growing office while at the same time supporting sales initiatives and acting as a client contact when necessary.
Key responsibilities include:
Personnel
• Day-to-day management, training and development of Research Analysts
• Development and maintenance of "best practice" in research, analysis and commissioning
• Ensuring that knowledge gained is shared and developed within and across research as a whole
Project
• On-going development and maintenance of African research expertise
• Planning and organisation of research programmes across relevant industries/countries
• The on-going review and provision of feedback on all aspects of research deliverables
Commercial
• Providing research support to clients serviced by sales people and Account managers
• Developing strong relationships with key trade press, conference organisers and associations
• Providing copy for business and trade press, contributing to internal communications initiatives such as pod casts, video casts etc |

Required Skills
• People management skills
• Strong research track record, with advanced skills in desk research, trade interviewing, quantitative analysis and report writing/editing
• Organisational ability
• Commercial awareness and understanding of sales versus operational imperatives
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Tenacity and attention to detail
Required Experience
• Degree in market research, economics or related discipline advantageous
• Proven experience of project, people and/or team management essential
