Treasury Assistant

DutyStation:   AddisAbaba, Ethiopia 
2.       Majorduties and responsibilities:

a)    Reviewing actual and projected cashflow schedules and investigating any errors with the bank accounts or cash bookledgers.

b)    Responsible for preparation of banktransfers and ensuring sufficient cover of foreign exchange is in place at alltimes.

c)     Assist in the preparation ofmonthly/daily cash forecasts and prepare summary cash position;

d)    Investigate routine claims relatedto non-receipt/delayed payments and bank charges;

e)    Prepare stop payment requests forcheque and follow-up the bank remedial action.

f)      Draft routine correspondence relatedto the above and keep track of cheque stock

g)    Preparation and communication ofmonthly exchange rate report

h)    To perform any other duty as may beassigned.

 3. QUALIFICATION:

Candidates must have at least a CollegeDiploma in Accounting, Finance or equivalent relevant qualification. University Degree in Accounting orFinance or equivalent professional certification would be desirable.


4. WORK EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:

Candidate must have previous treasury/bankingexperience. Foreign exchange deals experience would be advantageous. Workingexperience in payment, treasury systems (like Insight, SWIFT and OPICS) is desirable.Familiarity with payment processes, rules and practices within the bankingsystem is required. Proficiency in a highly integrated ERP such SAP is alsodesirable.

5. OTHER RELEVANT SKILLS:

Computer literacy; excellentinterpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment; Goodcommunication and negotiating skills; good planning and organizational skills.


5. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

Proficiency in one of the African Union workinglanguages. Knowledge of one or several other working languages would be anadded advantage.

6. AGE REQUIREMENT:

Candidates must preferably be between 25 and 35years old.

9. TENURE OF APPOINTMENT:

The appointment will be made on a fixedterm contract for a period of One (1) years, of which the first three monthswill be considered as a probationary period. Thereafter, the contract will befor a annually subject to satisfactory performance and fund availability.

11. REMUNERATION: The salary attached to the position is an annual lump-sum of
US$ 50,148.39  inclusive ofall allowances for internationally recruited staff, and
US$21,354.35 inclusive of all allowances for locally recruited staff.
