Mentor Accountant- Accounting for International Development Tanzania


About the Organization: 
Accounting for International Development (AfID) is a social enterprise that offers experienced finance professionals the opportunity to use their skills to make a difference as volunteers and to gain rewarding hands-on international development experience. Individually tailored assignments, ranging from 2 weeks to 12 months, form part of an ongoing strategy of AfID to build the financial management capacity and long-term sustainability of charities and non-profit community organizations across the world.
About the Job: 
AfID is seeking a Mentor Accountant. S/he will be placed with AfID's partner organization in Tanzania. The partner organization works towards empowering pastoralist women and children through education, economic empowerment, and land rights.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Assist the partner organization with the transition to Quickbooks;
  • Help in streamlining the partner's system and introducing a new financial manual;
  • Assist with tracking donor funds, budgeting, and general cash management;
  • Provide mentoring and capacity building on topics of accounting system and fund management.
