Training and Programmes Manager MicroSave Kenya

About the Job: 
MicroSave is seeking a Training and Programmes Manager. S/he will support the head DFS-Africa to manage a growing range of training and research programs at the Helix Institute of Digital Finance.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Overseeing the organization of premium training workshops on a regular basis (typically every 2-3 months). This involves:
    • Identifying potential participants and actively recruiting them;
    • Support the marketing of the training programs;
    • Booking the training venues and liaising with hotel staff;
    • Managing the training scholarship program;
    • Managing the logistics for participants including flight schedules, hotel booking etc.;
    • Managing contracting and logistics for experts and associated consultants;
    • Preparing the materials for the training workshops;
    • Providing on-site support to the training program;
    • Managing day-to-day logistics during the trainings including social media.
  • Assisting with the coordination and follow-up of the on-going research programs and other program related work. This involves:
    • Managing preparations and logistics for country workshops and other associated presentations of data;
    • Attending and preparing minutes for the weekly meeting;;
    • Following up on actionables from the weekly meeting;
    • Using the project management software to track outstanding issues/deliverables;
    • Following up on outstanding issues/deliverables;
    • Assisting with the resolution of outstanding issues/deliverables.
Qualifications: 
  • MBA or equivalent degree from reputed institution;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in overseeing the organization and management of professional training, preferably international training in the development sector;
  • Strong communication skills in spoken and written English;
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills. Excellent people skills;
  • Hands on experience of managing training and project management;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to multi task under pressure.
